BEIJING, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) — Chinese President Xi Jinping has underscored the significant strides made by the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) in jointly building a community with a shared future for mankind. In a recently published signed article titled “Building a China-Vietnam Community with a Shared Future That Carries Strategic Significance And Writing Together a New Chapter in Our Modernization Drive” in the Nhan Dan Newspaper of Vietnam, Xi expressed optimism about the promising path ahead.
This year marks the 15th anniversary of the China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, a milestone that Xi acknowledged with pride. “No matter how the global environment has changed, our two parties and countries have worked together to uphold peace and tranquility, pursue development and cooperation, and promote prosperity and progress. We have found a promising path of jointly building a community with a shared future for mankind,” he stated.
Xi highlighted the firm foundation of mutual trust, citing frequent visits by leaders of the two parties and countries, fostering a relationship akin to that of relatives. Economic ties have flourished, with China being Vietnam’s largest trading partner and Vietnam reciprocating as China’s biggest trading partner in ASEAN and the fourth largest globally.
The people-to-people connection between China and Vietnam has also thrived, with a significant rebound in travel between the two nations this year. From January to October, more than 1.3 million Chinese tourists visited Vietnam, contributing to the deepening of friendly exchanges.
Emphasizing the principle of sincerity in their dealings, Xi noted the alignment of both nations as vocal advocates of multilateralism. China and Vietnam prioritize dialogue, consultation, and peaceful cooperation, firmly upholding the basic norms of international relations outlined in the UN Charter.
Xi stated, “We support each other on issues involving our respective core interests and major concerns, and maintain close coordination in regional and international cooperation mechanisms.”
Highlighting Vietnam’s role on the global stage, Xi acknowledged Vietnam’s participation in key initiatives such as the Group of Friends of the Global Development Initiative (GDI), the Global Security Initiative (GSI), and the Global Civilization Initiative (GCI). Additionally, he noted Vietnam’s support for China’s accession to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership.
The article reflects the ongoing commitment of China and Vietnam to deepening their strategic partnership, fostering mutual respect, and contributing to regional and global cooperation.
